Medical Multi–Skilled Technician Programme: Course Overview
This comprehensive programme equips you with the essential skills and knowledge to excel as a
Medical Multi- Skilled Technician (MST). Through a blend of theoretical learning and practical
training, you’ll gain expertise in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and
laboratories.
You gain knowledge of :
1- The Medical Laboratory Assistant ( MLA )
2- The EKG Technician
3- The Phlebotomy Technician
4-Medical Administration
5-Anatomy & Physiology
At the end of the programme Students would have gained the knowledge required to under take the
Certification Examinations for AMT and AMCA and be Certified in these areas.
The programme consists of five core modules:

MST Fundamentals: This module lays the foundation for your journey as an MST. You‘ll delve into
medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, infection control, and health and safety protocols. -
Medical Administration: Develop strong administrative skills crucial for efficient healthcare delivery.
Learn medical records management, appointment scheduling, billing and patient communication. -
Specimen Handling 1: Gain a comprehensive understanding of safe and proper specimen collection
techniques for various bodily fluids and tissues. Explore different collection methods, labelling protocols
and transportation procedures. -
Specimen Handling 2: This module expands on your knowledge from Specimen Handling 1, focusing
on specialized collection techniques, point–of–care testing, and quality control measures to ensure accurate
results. -
Patient Diagnostics: Learn to perform and assist with basic diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiograms
(EKGs/ECGs), and vital signs measurement. You‘ll also gain insights into interpreting basic diagnostic results.
